East of Millau the Tarn river and its tributaries carved out 4 canyon like Gorges: Gorges de la Dourbie, Gorges de la Jonte, Gorges du Trèvezel and the most famous of all the Gorges du Tarn. These Gorges are at the heart of the most spectacular walking area of the Grands Causses Natural Parc. Steep crags of 400m and the typical scenery of limestone plateaux dissected by rivers. You'll see the Grotte Rose of Dargilan, the unusual scenery of the Causses (Le Chaos de Montpellier le Vieux and Roques Altes). For booking this tour please complete our booking form . A district with an extraordinary diversity of landscapes,
that you will get to know when cycling through this far South part of
the Massif Central: mountains, limestone plateaus (Causses), lush green
valleys, roaring rivers (Tarn, Jonte, Dourbie, Lot, Aveyron, Dourdou).
Lots of small villages here.
In the Parc Régional des Grands Causses in South-Aveyron. Aveyron is also a rich source of (ancient) culture: the district of Templars, medieval cloisters and places of pilgrimage. And... apart from the cyclists and hikers, a renowned district for bird-watching, mountain-biking, (fly-)fishing, for who seeks nature, quiet and farsights of mountains, valleys and plateaus, called Causses.
Of this bike tour B04 we propose a light version too. |

of the vultures in the Gorges. If you’re in for some more climbing,
take the long variant and go and visit the Aven Armand on the Causse

lively Medieval village of Nant. For the nightstay it is another 7km
to St. Jean-du-Bruel. The most challenging and beautiful stage is the 75 km long stage (1565m alt.) going up the slopes of the Mont Aigoual and cycling down some 24 beautiful kmthrough the Gorges de la Dourbie. (44, 58 or 71 km) |
